Suggest a propeller for my 60-HP Johnson two-stroke mounted on a classic 16-foot Boston Whaler boat. On a previous boat I had a great experience using a four-blade propeller. I will report my current prop and performance once I get her back from the shop and test her out (new boat for me). THANKS! -G

Depends on boat setup, and the model-year--tow or three cylinder engine. Certain years redline at certain RPM. If a two-cylinder engine, I would guess a 17-inch pitch propeller. I used to run a 19-inch on my 15-footer, and she would almost hit the 6,000 redline. Now if a three cylinder, which is almost identical to the 70, I would also guess a 17-inch if the load is light. The 17-inch on the two-cylinder is a much smaller diameter than the three-cylinder, hence why they would run the same prop. What are you running now and what engine speeds? |

Thanks-I'll let you know once I get it back from the mechanic-remanufactured powerhead being installed. I'll have to break that in, then get back to you (new boat for me). Mine is a 2 cylinder Johnnson 60 2c. |
