I am trying to help a friend choose a new engine for his 13' whaler. He is sold on a 40 HP and wants to buy something new, and is wafting between a Yamaha 40 and a Honda 40, both 4 stroke. The boat is used exclusively in salt water, usually back in creeks and inlets. I think that Yamaha gets the nod for salt water dependability and resale, what are you guys thinking here?

Thanks in advance

Depends on weight. Get the lighter one..hell get the cheaper one. Honda I believe comes with controls and prop, Yamagucci might not.
