I'm wondering what would be the best hydrofoil for a 13' sport with a 1985 Mercury 35?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

oliverweagle,
1987 13' Super sport, 40hp Johnson, 2-stroke:
Very good performance with a StingRay Jr. (gray in color)to match the 40 Johnson.
Lower planing speed, more pronounced lift with power trim and tilt, no porpoising.
Engine is set high so foil is probably out of water at high speed.
I highly recommend it.

Oliver-

Have you read this thread?

Lots of people's experiences with fins are listed. Nobody mentions direct experience with trying different fins on the same boat/motor though.

I installed a Doelfin on my 13-foot with a 1988 Johnson 40-HP mounted on a CMC PT130. It made a huge improvement in porpoising and acceleration. I moved the Doelfin to the new-to-me 1998 Honda 40-HP and I'm very happy with it. Though I did not try the Honda without the Doelfin.

After reading different opinions on the different fins I took the less is more approach and installed the light weight and plastic Doelfin. My logic is that if something hits the fin I'm hoping the $30 fin will break before my $800 lower unit housing.
