What's the best place to buy a trailer for a 3500lb Outrage 18 w/ 175 Suzuki?

Tow vehicle is an Audi Allroad. Location is San Diego.

Priorities:
The boat to sit as low as possible
The best brake system (discs, electric?)
Maximum safety and durability.

What I 'think' I want:

Aluminum
Roller Keel w/ solid bunks
torsion axle, no leaf springs
Dual axle (safety, towing stability, braking)
electric brakes
swing tongue

I'd love to hear any advice anyone has on the above, as well as any recommendations for 'where to go' to get the whole package.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Can't what to hear the responses to your question! I'm looking for a replacement trailer for an 18' Outrage as well (Texas Gulf Coast).

Sarge, I can't really tell you where to get a trailer, but I replaced my trailer last summer for my 18 outrage w/ 150 Opti and it is fantastic! I went from a dual axle Skipper B to a single axle aluminum trailer from Mike Gerald's here in Baton Rouge. I have the solid bunks (4 total), however I don't have roller keel and I have found that I really don't need it. I did not get any type of brakes, however, my tow vehicle is a basically new half ton GMC truck with very large brakes so I don't have a problem stopping. My dad has an 1999 Suburban and it has a tough time stopping it, so if you are towing with a slightly older truck then brakes are a must. My trailer does have leaf springs but I find that it pulls very smoothly and does not bounce excessively back there. The lower center of gravity of these new trailers is awesome and I think takes care of some of the stablility issues of higher single axle trailers. My new trailer is actually more stable then my old double axle. I can't really comment on any of the other things, but I hope that helps you.

jshowel:
there is a sister dealership (where my trailer was actually made) in Houston:

McClain Trailers, Inc.
7203 Cowart St.
Houston, TX 77020
1 800-747-3059

I would check them out, great product and great customer service (in BR anyway). Cost w/ tax, title, etc. was around $2300 (BR has 9.5% sales tax). I pull my boat about six hours round trip at least 2 weekends a month in the summer so I am very appreciative of its performance. Hope this helps.

Sarge,
I don’t know about aluminum trailers but for a galvanized steel trailer FE Trailers in El Cajon -(619) 444-9932-
do excellent work. Not cheap but good trailers. Tonym
