towboater	posted 01-09-2007 12:36 PM ET (US)         I have aquired 3 merc, 2 fitch outboard & 3 alpha 1 merc wheels in the 150 hp range and looking at "possibly" repowering... In general, which brand(s) of engine shafts are different from one another at the same HP? michael k
Tom W Clark	posted 01-09-2007 12:40 PM ET (US)             All the propeller shafts are the same diameter. All have the same spline spacing but the Mercurys have a greater length of their shafts splined. These shafts do NOT use the same thrust washers though they are VERY close.
