I recently got a quote of $5400 per engine for the 90 HP E-TEC's. $10,800 installed. The 90's are not available with counter rotation. What is the consensus on two engines both right hand drive? Will it be all right? |

Sure it will be all right. The boat will be harder to trun in one direction, unless you have hydraulic steering. Also boats with counter rotation tend to be a little faster than those without, maybe a mph or two. The engines won't overheat or cavitate if that is what you are worried about. Buckda's 90's are probably mounted a little closer than yours will be and he has no issues. |

I have twin 70 Hp engines , no problem, but hydraulic steering is the way to go, that is a real good price!Do they have similar prices on the 75Hp?.............Jack |

Pricing across the board is similar, although it jumps to $10,900 for the 115 HP. Interestingly, we went to a small boat show yesterday and asked for pricing. We were told things were slow and that this particular dealer was selling at dealer cost. I proceeded to had us a "Confidential US Dealer Base 2007 Model Price List", a copy of which can be seen here: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h211/BigJayR/boating/E-TECPricing.jpg |

There is nothing unusual or wrong about a pair of right hand rotation 90 HP motors. |

Thanks Tom, I'm having a hard time getting my partner to take his wallet out..... If I were to do it, what would be a realistic price for me to sell the refurbed Guardian 20" with brand new 90 E-TEC's Anyone dare to take a guess? |

$100 more for 115's was definitely too good to be true. I would buy ten and put them on eBay. |

$10,900 is the correct price for a single 115 installed. The $5400 for the 90 was the wrong one. Salesman was scratching his head. He could not explain how he made the mistake. Sure wish they already had my deposit when they figured it out LOL..... |

Jay - That is what I thought, though I didn't want to jinx your good fortune if it was true! I was actually discussing your deal today over lunch with a friend. My speculation was that perhaps you were getting a 'remanufactured' motor from the factory - or a backdoor deal from a disgruntled worker! The price he'll come back with should be in the ballpark of 30 percent higher than the price quoted (installed). Good luck - that 20 will be great with twin 90's on her. Dave |

Buckda, I'm not doing twins now.... Back to square one. Suzuki 175 perhaps. I wonder if the $5400 was their price from the manufacturer and the were looking at the wrong sheet to quote us??? I know for certain the 1st quote came off a sheet the secretary was reading from.... |
