Alright, think I have finally narrowed down my choices to two engines for my '78 21' Revenge. Its between the suzuki 140 and the Honda 135. Give me some input on what you would do. Thanks, Michael -Sorry for all the posts just having a hard time making a decision

I would choose by which dealer/s are closest to your home, any parts needed or service you would have to travel or tow the boat. Also another issue would be for parts, how well stocked is your dealer, how long has he been in service/same location, and is getting parts a problem?, Here is another thought, which engine will mount up to your old holes on your transom. who gives the better warr. What about the service center talk to people around you that have purchased there before see what they say about the dealer. Some dealers are your best friend when they sell you the boat/motor, but then try to get service, hahaha, as far as motors I would buy the honda...good luck |

I have a Honda BF135 on my 190 Outrage/Nantucket and am very pleased with its performance, quietness and economy. I get 6 MPG at cruise and over 45 MPH WOT with no top. According to Honda's published dyno graph, the 2.4 liter BF135 produces 140 HP and over 140 ft. lbs. of torque. The 2 liter Suzuki DF140 on the other hand is lighter but is believed to produce a bit less than 140 HP.Both are fine motors and you can't go wrong with either one. Good luck in your search. |

Best dealer. I know what you are goin thru. Ive studied both extensively and both have dealer/parts issues in this area. I like the lighter weight and gear ratio of the DF140 but I will never badmouth Honda engines. If the dealers are a tossup, I think the Honda resale value would hold up better than the Suzuki on the open market. good luck. mk |
