I know that Quicksilver is a brand that is owned by Mercury and Brunswick, but how do their propellers compare? Are they identical?

For example, is a Quicksilver Typhoon and a Mercury Vensura the exact same propeller with a different name and different price?

Would the Quicksilver Typhoon have a polished finish and vent holes? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks--Drifter

In general the products with the Mercury brand are limited to being sold by authorized Mercury dealers. The parallel line of products with the Quicksilver brand appears to be able to be sold by retailers who are not authorized Mercury dealers.

Thanks gentlemen.

For what it's worth, I recently examined some Quicksilver Typhoons. I'm not sure how recently these were actually produced, but they appear identical to Mercury's Vensura props, with the exception of no vent holes. Blades have a polished finish. (I have not done an actual side-by-side comparison, but the lack of vent holes on the Typhoons was the only difference that was obvious to me.)

The lack of vent holes merely indicates age. Older Flo-Torq hubbed props did not have the PVS vent holes. It is not a distinction between Quicksilver and Mercury brands.
