posted 04-12-2007 04:18 AM ET (US)         I have an 86 18 foot outrage. I love it dearly but would like to attach a trolling motor. The real estate market beat me up like my first love and I finally have the cash to finish the restoration I started. I was told a power drive or minn kota riptide will clear the rail (Im unwilling to cut rail) but was warned not to go over 54 inches on the shaft length. I cant find a 54 thats reasonably priced and are tempted to get a 60 inch shaft thats on sale..so.....does anyone know if I can I can get away with a 60 inch shaft, clear the rail and still fish shallow waters.I thank you kindly for any responses received.
