jimh,(and others) I recently picked up a mint condition 1984 15' CC Sport w/a same year 50 hp Merc. that sounds to be identical to one you started out with. I am pretty hefty and plan to pull a tuber or one skier relatively often. I am tentatively planning to reprop with a SS 10 1/2 X 13". Do you remember what pitch your similar boat carried as my load requirements sound comparable to yours as described elsewhere? I will be running a 6 gal tank and single battery with no other added weight except for a small second person. Thanks

Even though I was running the same set-up as others on this board I found that my optimal prop dimensions were different than others due to engine mounting height and other reasons that I can't pin-point. Your best bet would be to run the boat now with the prop that is on it, see what it's maximum rpm is and see what the engine operating rpm should be at top end and make a decision around that. The general rule is that for every inch of pitch lowered you will raise the rpm by 200. So if you try and pull tubers with that prop and your around 200rpm lower than where you want to be, get a prop that is 1 inch of pitch lower than the one you got on there.
