I reported last year when I initially re-rigged my 1976 Revenge 19 from a 175 Johnson to a Suzuki 115 4 stroke. I went from 50+mph to 40.3 but my main reason for doing so was I have only 40 gallons in my tank. The 175 averaged about 8-9gph at cruise, My 115 will do half. Ok..so why the new post? I changed props.

Old prop was a Stiletto 14x20 polished SS prop. With light load and fuel she would exceed redline(6k) and at 6200 would break the 40 zone. At cruise she would do about 23mph at 4k so I normally cruised at 4200. My dilema was it over reved BUT with 6 people and full fuel I could still do almost 6k and about 36.5mph.

New prop is a Stiletto 14x22 polished prop. With 2 people and full fuel I could do 5900rpm and 39mph. Cruise however went to about 26mph at 4k which is what I was after. I assume GPH will be about the same as when running 4200 with smaller prop. I can keep her on plane at about 16mph and 3k. These results were on a very calm day so I think if I had some 10" chop I could get her to see 40, will let you know.

Holeshot is still good but obviously not as good. I do have the vent holes filled(on both props) so I can always remove that and try some numbers. Reason why I filled the holes was I had a tough time cruising a slow planing speed, it would not hold the rpm good and I really noticed little difference on holeshot.

For anyone interested I have a mint 14x20 for sale with only 67 hours use. Would be perfect on a 140hp being gear ratio is different. Will fit Merc/Honda/Yamaha/Johnson 4 strokes.

Did filling the holes make a noticable difference? I have an 89 outrage 18 with suzuki 140 with the stilleto 14 x 20 which works very well. I am getting 40 mph at 6000 rpm with rough old bottom paint with a few banacles and a t-top.

I have Suzuki DF140 too, propped with Stiletto 14x22. Best what I have seen during this wall with dirty hull was around 39,3kn(45,5mph)@6350. Overrev a bit. I guess if I go 14x24 stiletto, my WOT rpm goes around 5700-6000rpm range. Probably dont achieve any more top end, get better cruise speed but the downside is obviously not so good hole shot as 22" stiletto produce.

Boat is not a BW. It is a 19' center console, 19 degree v-hull, weight around 2350lbs in normal use.

In general, performance is ok at the moment, but I dont mind, if I can get more top speed with some other prop.

What do you think? Should I try other props as well or be happy with the performance what stiletto 14x22 can offer?

You have the mate to this prop(Brian) and he is happy with the 24's. Depends on how you run it.

When I ran 3+ people at 4k she woudl slip and fall to about 21mph from 23.5ish. WHen I filled the holes, it now stays at thehigher speed. Did not notice much on holeshot but I night if I drill out the 22. Brian and I filled in the holes on bot sets of props because we both were not happy with the holes. I will see if he filled in the 24's and if he is going to.

I am assuming you are talking about the one 3/8 inch hole just aft of the most forward part of the prop. I remember one hole, there may be two. Or are you talking about something else?

They are vent holes down by the base, 3 I believe.
