[Seeks readers with] experience with [Honda BF90D]. [The Honda BF90D] weighs only 359lbs and [Honda] claims the BLAST feature helps improve [acceleration from a standing start]. [The Honda BF90D] looks like an interesting replacement for a two-cycle outboard.

Thanks for any feedback - steve

Steve--Honda has very nicely given us a model designation for their new 90-HP four-cycle engine engine with electronic fuel injection which came out in 2007. It is the Honda BF90D.

Have not heard anything bad about new Honda 90hp engines. I believe that Honda 90-HP is the most advanced 90hp four stroke at the moment. [Suggested a different brand of motor. Please begin a separate topic to discuss other brands of 90-HP motors. Thanks--jimh]

For many fishermen around here Honda's are the engine of choice. The new BF90D would be a very nice engine for re-powering a classic 17-ft hull IMO. From all the little problems you hear about, concerning outboard engines in general, you don't hear much about Honda. Only good things.

I meant to spell "affordability". Anyway, Hondas are expensive, but usually worth it.
