I have a 27-foot Boston Whaler boat with Whaler Drive which I am repowering with a pair of Suzuki DF250 motors. I'm currently running 17-pitch REVOLUTION4 propellers on Johnson 225-HP motors. [Will] these propellers will work? If I need to go up in pitch, I notice that the shortest pitch offered on Suzuki four-blade props is 20-inch. Thanks in advance.

The 17-pitch Revolution4's will not work on the new motors. The Suzuki 250 has a 2.29:1 gear ratio while the old Johnson 225 has a 1.86:1 gear ratio.

This means you would need to step up to the 21-pitch Revolution4 or try the 20-pitch Suzuki props. There are other good props you should try as well. The PowerTech OFS four blade series does very well on larger heavy outboard powered boats.

Thanks Tom, that's what I figured. Looks like I have a couple REVOLUTION4 propellers for sale. If anyone is interested, let me know.

A pair of 17" Rev4s should be very easy to get rid of. There were some guys clamoring for a pair just a few weeks ago for the their Conquest 305s.

Are the motors counter-rotating models?

It will be interesting to see if these engines twist up like they should...let me know tomorow if you are able to take her out and it does not rain. Sent you an email about a trailer available locally.
