Give me a quick tutorial on propeller basics. have a 20 outrage (1981). Hit a rock and bent my old prop the other day. 3 or 4 blades better? remind me about pitch?

There is far too much information previously presented here to distill into a single post. Use the search function or refine your question/request.

Tell us what motor you have, what year it is, how it is mounted to the boat, what the gear ratio of it is, what the RPM range is, what you former propeller was, what its WOT RPM was and what top speed you saw with it, as measured by GPS.

Those are the basic bits of information needed for any propeller recommendation.
