Hi. Sorry my english :). [I will help a bit--jimh].

I have a 1986 Boston Whaler 18-footer with a 2007 Evinrude E-TEC 200 H.O., and I am thinking of changing to twin E-TEC engines. However, the engine weight is very important. The E-TEC I had installed is about 520-lbs. I use trim tabs when I want [to accelerate from a standing start] to go [unclear, perhaps water skiing?]. I am thinking in the future of a change to twin E-TEC engines, but the best weight on an E-TEC is the 60-HP that is 240-lbs, or 420-lbs for two--less that weight than I have now-- but I think that is too low horsepower. Right?

On the internet I saw an 1985 Boston Whaler 18-footer with twin E-TEC 115-HP engines, but I think they're too heavy. Right? And 90HP is the same weight.

Whatever recommendation, I will happy because I love my old boat :)

90 is not the same weight but twins would be about 650-lbs or more with props. Keep what you have.

Let me know if you want to sell that E-TEC 200 HO. I may have a buyer for you.

An 18-foot Boston Whaler can handle twin 90-HP E-TEC engines. However, I think the performance will be better with a single 200 H.O., like you have now.

I was not clear on your motivation for changing to twin engines. Can you explain that more. Thanks.

How did you get a dealer to put a 200 on that boat and how much do you want for it?
