quahog03	posted 03-04-2013 04:57 PM ET (US)         Any thoughts of a 2002 105hp Johnson on a older ( 1979 -1981 ) outrage ? I was told it is the commercial model,rated at 115hp. I'm not looking for speed,however just thinking if the boat would get on plane without much trouble. Thanks, Ed
Tom W Clark	posted 03-04-2013 11:11 PM ET (US)             Yes, it will be more than enough to pop that boat up on plane. My brother-in-law and his brothers have an Outrage 21 with a 90 HP Evinrude E-TEC on it. The boat will pop up on plane loaded with adults and hit a top speed of 34 MPH. And that is at only 45 percent of rated horsepower capacity. 21s have been powered with motor as small as 55 HP.
