I have a 1981 Sport 13 powered with a 2008 Mercury 30 HP EFI engine with tilt and trim.

I would like to know the best all around propeller and height adjustment for this combination.

The current propeller is a stainless steel 11P. The engine is mounted with the bolts through the center holes.

I'm having a custom cover made and I want the cover to go over the engine cowling so I'd like to get the mounting height of the engine as good as possible before taking the boat in for measurement.

Thank you.

What 11" stainless steel propeller do you have now?

Tom,

I'll have to get the entire number in the AM. It's a rather long number beginning with 48 but I'll put up the right number tomorrow

BTW, I was wrong about the engine mounting. The mounting bolts are in the third hole from the top or the second from the bottom.

Thanks for your question.

Tom,

The propeller number is 48-899820 11P. There are no other markings on the propeller so unless the number shows the manufacturer I'll call it unknown.

Thanks, again.

48-899820 is a 9-1/2" x 11" Mercury Vengeance.

What is your top speed and RPM?

There is no tachometer installed. I'll get you the light load GPS speed the next time I'm out. I've been putting off the purchase of a tach as it adds little value most of the time. I bought the Mercury instrument harness, now I'll buy the tach and see if I can just tape it to the console for testing.
