Here is a 5 minute video with information on my repower of a 2004 Boston Whaler Nantucket, originally equipped with a 115 Mercury 4-stroke and upgraded to a 150 4-stroke.

Nice video, the decibel level of the motor under load is impressively quiet.
Did you install the new motor yourself or did a dealer do it?

Webster Marine on Smith Mountain Lake did install and took my old engine in trade. Very nice job. Professional.

Hugh,
Very nice!
The video was interesting.
At the end, the rpm's were 4900 or so. After researching Mercury's website, they have numerous performance reports on various boats using the new 150 EFI 4- stroke (not Verado).
Virtually all of these performance reports conducted by Mercury were in the rpm range of 5700-5800 for WOT peak performance.
Perhaps you could consult Tom W Clark on this site to see if he recommends a prop that would reach that optimum rpm.
Love your boat, and that engine is a great match.

If 4900 RPM was the top RPM (not clear) then moving to a lesser pitch propeller to achieve higher RPM at WOT will improve the hole shot. Downside might be that noise may increase at cruise due to higher RPM at cruise.

That was not WOT. I have had it at WOT and it was running about 44mph. That was a warm day with flat, calm water and a quarter tank of fuel. RPM was right at 5500. You are right about the engine being a good fit for that boat!

I'm surprised Boston Whaler does't offer it as an option for the 2014 190 outrage. The buyer has to either purchase the Verado 150 or Verado 200 as the upgrade.

OK, I thought from the video, that 4900 was WOT.
5500 is on the money.
