Time to replace the propeller on our 1989 Yamaha 115. It now has a 13 x 19 Yamaha Stainless, but we are moving the motor to our newly acquired 1989 Montauk 17 [from a 1961 EASTPORT]. We haven't kept up with the advances in this new millennium. Suggest a new propeller.

I suggest you move the Yamaha 115-HP engine to the MONTAUK 17, and retain the present propeller. Then collect some data about engine speed and boat speed. From that data you can decide if a change is needed, and in what direction. I don't think there have been any really significant advances in propeller design since c.1989 that would revolutionize the performance of a 115-HP engine on 17-foot boat for typical operation in the usual circumstances.
