Topic: Identify Propeller Pitch From Stamped Markings

posted 07-01-2015 12:24 PM ET (US) I have a [1986 Boston Whaler] 15 CENTER CONSOLE with a 2011 Yamaha F60. [I] recently purchased a painted stainless steel propeller with "15 G" printed and stamped on the propeller. My buddy has the same boat and same engine with the "13 G" propeller. Can I assume the numbering is pitch? I'm used to different propeller designations. I am not an expert or even novice.

Do you have any idea or is there any indication who manufactured the propeller? When you purchased the propeller, where did you purchase it? Did the seller tell you the manufacturer of the propeller?

15 G tells us it is a Yamaha "G" Series propeller meaning it fits the motors with small 3.5" gearcases.
If it is painted stainless steel, then it is probably the Painted Stainless Steel model in the 10-1/4" x 15" size, Yamaha part # 663-45976-00-00
