Bennett Marine is now offering a trim tab position sensor and indicator system which is NMEA-2000 compatible. The sensor can be connected to a vessel's NMEA-2000 network, and display devices on the network will show the position of the trim tabs. The system is said to be compatible with LowranceNET devices and other NMEA-2000 multi-function displays. I believe this includes most of the NMEA-2000 SONAR and chartplotter devices from Lorwance, and also the Lowrance LMF-400 displays. It may include other displays by other manufacturers, but the information is somewhat sketchy on this point.

The sensor kit comes with Bennett Trim Tab Sensors, Interface Module, and LowranceNET® connectors. The MSRP is $169.

This is another example of the growing integration of NMEA-2000 into small boat electronic systems.

Jim - we are definitely seeing more "accessories" available with NMEA-2000 connectivity. Makes me glad I chose the Lowrance LCX-110C Depth/GPS unit.

Now if only Lenco would offer a NMEA-2000 kit for their trim tabs (Lenco are standard tabs on the 235 Conquest, for one), it would help overcome Boston Whalers poor decision to skip trim tab postion indicators on an $80K boat.
