Hi All:
I am looking into a powerful spotlight to mount near the bow of my 19-foot cruiser while navigating in Lake Ontario. I have the go-light 400,000-candle power portable suction cup. It is OK, but in fog I feel I need more penetration and range. I have been looking at the Guest 502 and 503 models. Both have 1,000,000 candle power halogen bulbs. The 503 adds a 50 watt flood. They both claim 1-mile range and are around $300 with wired controls that mount on the helm. Do any of you have a preference for a powerful spot that you have been happy with?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob, I use a an inexpensive handheld with quick bursts
of light, it is just easier to aim and control to me. I never run with the light on continuously, and turn down all console lighting and screens to a minimum. Using just quick bursts of light keeps me from being blinded which is all important.
