Looking for a replacement bracket and wiring harness for an Icom IC - M45A. Any suggestions for the bracket other than ICOM parts (it's approx. $30.00 for a piece of plastic).

Aside from fabricating a bracket on your own, I don't have any thoughts on that. I would go to the manufacturer for the wiring harness. How is it your radio lost these components? Did you buy it from a legitimate seller?

Lost the items when we sold the boat a couple years back. Failed to remove the bracket and harness (had the radio).

Have given the radio to a buddy for his new boat and trying to get it installed.

Fabricating w/ stainless steel is probably the answer for the bracket.

Fabricating your own wiring harness should not be difficult if you can

--locate the proper connector
--have the proper gauge and grade of wire in the proper color insulation
--have the necessary tools to assemble the connector

Many marine electrical connectors are molded-on to make a better seal, and, even if you can find a mating connection, the field-installed connector won't be waterproof.

Personally, I would get a new VHF Marine Band Radio with included digital selective calling with at least a Class-D rating. You can get a new VHF Marine Radio with Class-D DSC for about $130, and it will include a wiring harness and mounting bracket.

Look around for somebody with a dead M45A (and maybe some
others that use the same bracket).
