I bought a portable Lowrance Ifinder h20C last year and got a free ram mount for it. Lowrance doesn't offer a hardwire option to the fuse box. Only the cigarette lighter option. I really like the GPS, so I'm thinking about cutting off the cigarette lighter end and hard wiring directly to the fuse box. Any thoughts? Comments?

No problem, though I think I'd wire it to the accessory switch
rather than straight to the fuse box.
You might be able to open up the lighter plug non-destructively
to see what sort of wire you are dealing with.
