Last summer I installed the CP300 in my Conquest 295. It is a nice performing unit for the price. One note on the size of the hole needed for the cable run; I disassembled the “Smart Antenna” and the cable connections in the antenna are very easy to remove. Once you remove the cable from the antenna the largest hole needed is the size of the cable itself, no need to cut and splice. When reassembling the antenna I also sealed the entire antenna with silicon. As stated in the Reference Article the antenna houses a small circuit board with a GPS receiver mounted on it. Also I found it interesting that the “Smart Antenna” is manufactured in Italy.
