While I was reseating my Attwood 1250 pump in it's base holder, I snapped the whole plastic neck inside the hose. It was really brittle. The Rule-a-Matic float switch has also been sticking on for no reason (no debris or water in bilge). I believe they are both OEM vintage 1998.

So I am planning to replace both. I am thinking of using the Rule 2000 model 09 pump with an electronic float switch. Either the Johnson Ultima or the Water Witch 230.

Good choices? Does anyone have experience with these? Thanks in advance - I was hoping to order them today/tomorrow.

Mike,
I've been very pleased with the Johnson Controls Ultima bilge pump switch installed in our 170 Montauk. Completely sealed, no moving parts and has delayed turn off so bilge hoses are completely empty. Good product. Recommended.

I agree with Nauti Tauk, I just installed an Ultima this week.

Mike -

Have used Rule brand. Don't recommend the auto sensing.

Check out a Hamilton Marine near you, they carry both Rule and Johnson brands.

Enjoy this weekend! Finally!

Phil

Phil - yes, it should be a great weather weekend up here - hope you have a good one - my youngest wants to spend the night camping out on the boat at the mooring!

Nauti Tauk / David - thanks, I think I will try the Johnson Ultima.
