I am trying to update [the firmware] in my Eagle Fishelite 500C to version 1.9 from version 1.2. I downloaded the new version to an SD card from the Eaglesonar website. When I try to install the new version it will not load; the Eagle is reading the card fine when I browse the MMC files. d norrod |

Check the file permissions. Usually the file has to have permission to be an executable file. When you created the file on your computer, the file may have been given a default permission status, which often prohibits the file being an executable file. |

We really do not try to offer help in understanding computer operating systems and their commands. For help understanding file permissions, check the documentation for the operating system you are using. If using a Unix operating system, just run the command > chmod 777 filename |

It may also be the SD card type. Your PC may read/write but your older Eagle unit may want a specific type of SD card. Check the manual. Regards |

quote: This may be part of your problem. You need to get the update from the website http://www.eaglenav.com/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/ If you downloaded from a website called Eaglesonar you may have the wrong software. Use the eaglenav.com website linked above. |
