I have a 1988 Johnson 48 SPL outboard. Last year my batteries went dead and when I checked the system the wires to the terminals were a bit corroded so I cut them back to good copper and reattached them to the batteries. Still looks like the batteries are not charging very much after running then engine for a while.

I looked at some parts catalogs but could not find a magneto to purchase and replace. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do replace the power pack? The coils? The battery wires? All of the above?
