posted 11-19-2012 11:29 AM ET (US)         I have written a very short and somewhat terse tutorial on how to use PolarView NS for route planning, how to export that route from PolarView NS, how to move the data to a Lowrance HDS chart plotter using a memory card, and how to import the data into the Lowrance HDS-8. http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/importGPX.html This technique can be used with most any computer navigation application that can export its data in the GPX format. Many modern chart plotters can import data from a file in GPX format. The precise details of the method will vary with each application and each chart plotter.
