Today only, West Marine is offering the Lowrance HDS-5 for only $450. I mention this because at that price an HDS-5 costs less than a simple 4-inch color NMEA-2000 general display like a Garmin GMI 20. The HDS-5 is a Gen2 model, and it comes with a transducer and electronic charts. The transducer is normally about a $80 item. The charts are the Nautic Insight Great Lakes and Coastal Charts. I am going to have to give this deal some serious consideration. Just as a dedicated display of engine data, the price is excellent. I just got an email from Lowrance where they have a $200 off deal on HDS Gen 2 Touch going thru April 6. |
