The KING Plastics company has recommendations for using adhesives with their KING StarBoard products. See

The executive summary: adhesives don't work with KING StarBoard.

Use of KING StarBoard or similar materials, which I believe are in the category of ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) plastics, as an intermediate mounting surface for installing screw fasteners to hold SONAR transducers on the transom of a boats is often mentioned or recommended. After reading the recommended procedures for using adhesives with KING StarBoard, I believe the best method of bonding KING StarBoard to a boat transom is probably to use mechanical fasteners.
