To hide individual electrical cables, mechanical cables, or hydraulic cables that rig to an outboard engine at the transom of small boats, a flexible covering is often used. Some coverings take the form of a flexible braided plastic tube. Generally this material is available only in black. I recently came across an advertisement from a vendor selling braided plastic hose or tube-like material in a wide variety of colors. Substituting a different color for the usual black might be a way to dress-up the rigging. In the case of my boat, with an off-white hull and an off-white engine, using a rigging tube with a white or light beige color might make the rigging more attractive than a black tube. Unfortunately, I don't have so much enthusiasm for this idea that I am willing to completely re-rig the boat to try it. The vendor selling the braided or flexible mesh rigging tube material is found at http://www.cabletiesandmore.com/ExpandableSleeving.php

Boston Whaler Red to match the hull graphics may be attractive. Certainly red hose covers, etc. are popular with the vehicle engine dress up crowd. I think it looks attractive with the chrome dress up parts.Butch |

Jim, that's a great link - good selection, good prices! They also have split loom in various colors, up to 1" inner diameter. I don't like to bundle the fuel line inside the same cover as the wiring, so 1" may be enough for me - I may try the red. |

This might work if you don't want to re-rig everything... http://www.cabletiesandmore.com/colorloom.php |
