home Aside	posted 08-25-2015 07:53 PM ET (US)         I was out of the boat last Sunday, and when I went to use my dash mounted tilt-trim switch, it did not work. The tilt-trim switch on the side of the Yamaha 225 cowling worked just fine. The dash switch is a toggle switch that does not lock up or down; it has to be held until the tilt or trim gets where you want it, as opposed to a on-off toggle switch. Now comes the stupid question: what do they refer to this type of toggle switch as? Thanks, Pat

jimh	posted 08-26-2015 09:01 AM ET (US)             If the dash-mounted toggle switch for trim has a center off position, the switch ACTION would typically be described as ON MOMENTARY--OFF--ON MOMENTARY action The switch CONTACTS would be described as Single-Pole Double-Throw Center-off, or SPDT Center-off
