Anyone interested in doing a trip this fall? Saw some posts from a few months ago and would love to try a trip on the Appalach or St. John's. Also anyone interested in a S. Georgia trip, perhaps Cumberland Island?

Hog, where do you live in GA? I am in the middle and would like a short trip with other whalers...keep in mind it's only a 15 so no real rough stuff. Jin Armstrong |

Jameso,I'm in Gainesville, FL and usually fish the big bend area, but would like to do a whaler trip sometime. I have Cohasset 16 so I'm not looking for anything too rough either. |

I would like to do a trip either when it gets a bit cooler or this spring. Wonder if we could get others interested? Need some info on the big bend area, I have never done a lot there but I may take some time off next week. Was thinking about the Ft. Walton area,,,mainly just want to run the boat in some nice water, was thinking ICW from Pensacola to Destin. I think I will post a message in general area, see if we can get some interest in a get together. |

I live in Bradenton too, but was in Gainesville for 5 years. I was in Steinhatchee a couple of weeks ago for a scalloping trip. The big bend area is really nice. I would be interested in any of the proposed trips. I have a friend in Jacksonville who goes to Cumberland Island regularly. I would also be interested in the trip around Ft Walton. |

Any place sounds fine to me. I would not mind going to Cedar Key. Never been there, know it is a little farther, but it sounds nice. Kelly |

Actually Cedar Key is closer to N Fl than most places. Someone needs to take the lead and do it! |

Thanks to all who have emailed me and made use of this forum...my idea for a trip would be to launch at some point in the Big Bend or Panhandle area...motor a few hours on the ICW and tie up at a nice motel/resturant. Then we could spend the evening talking whalers and other things of interest. Next AM have breakfast, motor back to the launch area and have some more comraderie before we leave for home. I think that a trip of less than 60 mi each way would be good... at 25 MPH or so this would be about 3 hours on the water. If we planned the launch time and tried to schedule the thing right we could all enjoy the trip. Maybe even driving each others craft or comparing like hulls with different power. The possibilities seem great. I will do some research this week...may take the Whaler to FL and investigate places to go. Any input would be appreciated, if you know of a place to launch or a place to RON let me know. Thanks Jim Armstrong |

O.K. with two inputs one from the travel section of Spruce Creek Navy the other from the Blindhog here goes. We meet either at the Gulf View Motel in Steinhatchee (Blindhogs acorn) or the Bay City lodge in Apalachicola. Both seem to be suitable for our needs. I am suggesting the 20th of Oct. Please feel free to email me or use this board inputs are needed. Let's do it! Jim Armstrong |

I wish someone would take the lead and plan a trip this fall,,I am hesistant to do so. My job is with the Department of Defense and we seem to have a small problem. I do not know if I could attend but maybe. Thanks again to all on this forum and all the emails I have received. Jim Armstrong |
