I couldn't make it to the Tampa trip but it sounded so great I thought we might try one on the east coast! Ponce Inlet should make a great destination. With easy access, lots of variety, ocean or inland waters, fishing, swimming, camping or just drinking beer, its bound to be great. It's located between Daytona Beach and New Smyrna and is practically in Edgewater's back yard (Whaler plant location). Okay, there will be a lot of non-Whaler riffraff but that just adds to the fun. I like to drop in at Daytona's Halifax Marina (free, very nice) and run down through the "No manatee zone". So what do you think??? smirkless in Orlando

Hey neighbors...We did have fun in Tampa, but we were talking about having the next one in the St. John's River. I guess disappearing island would be ok over there, but law man tend to pull people pretty frequent don't they? We were thinking about maybe everyone staying at Hontoon, then a day trip to the Glen or something. Kathy's Island (beer island)isn't too far from 44 ramp, and everyone would have a place to stay. Plus, there is a boat poker run on the 19th benefitting Rodeheavers Boys Ranch, Sponsored by the DeLand Jaycees, we could all have fun not just for us, but a good cause too! What cha yaa think? Sounds good too. We could make the Ponce inlet rendezvous another time maybee. Let's see who is in or out on these things. If there is some interest in the St. Johns idea, a new rendezvous topic should be posted. Janis, how much of the St. Johns River above Hontoon is manatee zone?smirkless in Orlando |
