Happy New Year to all!I have to make a trip to Las Vegas in the last week of March or early April. Has anyone toured Lake Mead that time of year? Would the trip be more fun on an '18 then a '25? Or sould we make a official Rendezvous attempt? Any ideas would be great, I did take my Montauk there in one July (in the 80's) but only for a day of water sking, on this trip I would like to stay on (or near) the water for a few days... Pete

Possible, but for me it would have to be later in April... |

peteinsf,There really are no places to stay on the lake. Thus, you could camp. I would think the larger boat may be better for that. The lake can get very rough at times, depending on wind direction. Be aware that Lake Mead is down over fifty feet so the charts are suspect. It is not planned for the lake to be at full pool for a couple of years. Many of the marinas have moved or closed up. I believe it would be best to check with the local tourism agencies to find out what is still open and where they are. |

I didn't go in, but there appears to be a nice park for camping, launching, etc. right next to Boulder City, NV. |

Hendrickson,You are correct. There are some cabins for rent there also. The problem is that they are now 1/4 mile or better from the shore. The marina has also moved closer to Hwy. 93 and has far fewer slips. It is now right below Railroad Pass Casino. |
