Go to http://www.whaler.com/Rec/pdfs/floridaowners/Charlevoix.pdf for details of this event. There are a number of hotels in Charlevoix, Mi, some I beleive are right on Lake Charlevoix. Numerous private marinas and a public marina are available for dockage, and there are a number of eateries available via boat. Young State Park has camping, but only a few sites remain for these days. There are other campgrounds, both Sate Park and State Forest nearby as well. For those of you who may not know the area, Lake Charlevoix opens out onto Lake Michigan via a short navigable canal. Lake Charlevoix, at 17,260 Acres and Walloon Lake at 4,320 provide plenty of boating opportunity and excellent fishing for small Whalers, and Beaver Island some 30 miles offshore in Lake Michigan provide a destination for the more adventurous Cetaceans! So far, in the GLBWCC thread http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000529.html , the following have indicated their plans to attend this multi BW Dealer Sponsored Event: Buckda; 18' Outrage Any others who would like to join the fleet are encouraged to chime in with their plans. This looks like quite a fun filled weekend, with ample boating opportunities for Whalers big and small. Roy |
