anybody interested for south shore of long island rendevous? possibly hemlock cove or zachs bay late august.

Let me know what date in August. Maybe we can make it to Zachs or Hemlock.

I should have the Outrage ready by then and I'd love to come by and visit my old haunts. Is the 'snake channel' still a viable option in lieu of the Amityville Cut? I ran aground more than my share of times there.
Post the date and I'll really try to make it.

Since you gave me plenty of time on the calendar I can definitely make it. What's biting in that area now-a-days? Any fluke still or maybe snappers?

I'd be interested in going...Zachs bay is a hop skip and a jump from me....not sure where Hemlock cove is. My 170 is about to go in for it's 50 hour service.....should be raring to go for late august.,,,,thats prime snapper season.

As a side note, was in jones inlet this past sunday, big swells and 15 lb blues in a frenzy...we boated 12 big blues in 45 minutes...was nice being able to manuever inbetween the bigger boats and get choice fishing positon....boat was a little tipsy but i had no fear...my arms are still recovering from all the fighting

Hemloch cove is just east of Zachs by a few miles. Get onto State Boat channel EAST - pass measured mile, pass Tobay Basin, pass Amityville Cut, pass Gilgo beach and Gilgo cove. Hemloch is the next cove to the south before Cedar Beach Marina.
If memory serves......
We used to ski through there with our 13' whalers. Me, the Morrow boys, Chris Nolan, and a few others. We even camped out in tents there one night and got killed with ticks the next day when we woke up.
