Is there any interest in doing a get together at the Toronto Boat Show in January?

I just check on the hotel deals and found that the Sheraton is sold out of the Boat Show rate rooms but the Westin still does have some rooms at the $75CDN rate. So, it would pay to get one's reservations sooner than later.

I have interest, and it sounded to me that Peter Dunster might have interest - he and I agreed we'd communicate about the idea some more. I can go any time, and I have some friends who are already booked at the Westin Tuesday thru Thursday (1/16-1/18), although now Katie has told me she can't take any more time off work, so those particular dates are of less interest to me. My trip would probably be predicated on getting the boat show rates at the Westin, so if something is going to happen with a group, we'll have to decide quickly so reservations can be made while they're available.

The dates are 1/13-1/21, and the link to the Toronto Boat Show is as follows: http://www.torontoboatshow.com/home.asp .

I think when we have gone before as a group, it has been around the second weekend, which would work for me (as would any other time if we move on this.)

The 13th & 14th work better for me with my work schedule. Also, since Monday the 15th is a holiday (Martin Luther King Day) it provides an extra day to recover from the driving and the walking.

John, as for hotel reservations I suggest you make them now. You can always cancel them if you can't make the trip. The cancelation policy lets you cancel a few days before arrival without any penalty. I have already made my reservations for both weekends. Once plans are firmed up I will cancel the ones I don't need.

Happy New Year everyone!

It's now less than two weeks until the opening of the Toronto Boat Show. So far it just looks like it looks like just Kingfish, cdnwhaler and myself. Anyone else interested?

I think Stuart/GBayWhaler will be joining us as well. I sent out an encouraging email earlier this morning to a few others but haven't heard back yet.

Unfortunately I'll have to pass, I'm working afternoons this month Monday - Friday 3PM-11PM, very difficult to get any Friday off this month, little too much solo driving to leave late Friday or early Saturday morning & return Sunday....have fun

Pete, et al.

Send details about the rendezvous. I'm interested as I'll likely be down at the show anyway, unless the weather holds and I'm boating instead...
