We registered yesterday. Is there anybody else planning to go to this event? We plan to tow the boat down with our motorhome and have reservations at Long Key State park. As our luck would have it, we have reservations except for the night of the 14th. Hope we can find a place to park for the night after we register. Jim

We are considering it, not a lot of Information on the web site on who, what or where, except the Lorili (SP)restaurant. I do know the Whaler Dealer is just up the high way. |

I checked with the restaurant today and the person that answered the phone was not aware of the rendezvous. Someone else is responsible for setting up affairs. I did get the marina manager and found out if I keep my boat in the water it will cost $2.00 a foot a day but if I put in dry storage they will charge about $80 for 4-5 nights. Not too easy to launch the boat from a motorhome and the manager said they have trailer storage. That helps a lot.We will be staying in a State campground for the duration of the trip but that will be for 10 days. Jim |

I think I will wait for details, it would be nice to stay pretty close to the Event, but that time of year many good hotels will be booked up especially on the weekends. June is a favorite month for the Keys with the locals(S. Fl people). I like the Coral Bay down the road, but that may be too far to enjoy the fishing tournament. I will be staying longer two weeks or more if I can afford it, no sense going to the Keys for any less time. It will cost me,I live in Central Florida, at least $250 in gas for a round trip to the Keys. |

I trailer my 17 Montauk to the Keys regulary and would recommend everyone get a motel room booked now. Usually weekends in May and June are booked solid months in andvance. Make sure if you get a motel it has an adequate ramp and decent docks. A lot of the boat ramps in the Keys tend to be very shallow and difficult at best to get enough water to float your Whaler off. June is a very warm month as well and I always stay on the oceanside of the island for a better breeze and fewer mosquitos at night. Looking forward to the trip. |

BW posted a few hotels that you might consider. At other events the BW dealer made arrangements to launch boats and had adequate room to keep the trailer within their property. I tried to call the dealer today and was not able to speak to someone that had any knowledge about what was going on. I'll try again tomorrow. We are in central Florida and expecting a hard freeze tonight. Be glad to get away for a few days. Jim |

I talked to Jack at Carabee boat sales, the Whaler dealer today. It appears we will be launching from a public ramp near both the Boat dealer and the restaurant and perhaps storing things at Lorelei's if there is room. I still think BW puts on a great party. Looking forward to spending time in the Keys. Jim |

Made our hotel reservations today after checking avialablity for rooms in Islamorada. There is still lots of availability in the area but I'm sure that will change as we get closer to the event.Boston Whaler is still offering $100 to the first 50 boats that register. Haven't decided on to make the drive and tow from Jersey yet. Flying would be a lot nicer ride. We'll see.

I know I can't fit anything large in the Learjet 31A, but I am sure I could get my 13 Sport in my friends Grumman HU-16. So yes it could fly..... |

Our problem right now is logistics. We found a place to park the RV but it is about 30 miles from the event. If the fishing tournament is on the 15th, we will have to drive for about an hour to get to the dock. If we can put it all together, we may have room aboard for another couple. I just hope we can keep the boat at the event site.. Jim |

We have reservations at Long Key on 12 and 13th and again on 15th to 19th of June. We had to reserve a spot on the 14th at Curry Hammock for the 14th. The Boston Whaler event is June 14, 15 and 16 at Lorelei's restaurant at mile 82.5. check in with Traci Davis at BW. Her email address is tdavis@whaler.com. Jim |

This is an easy one...On the Whaler site look for "My Whaler". Then "Whaler Events". Then "owner Events", and you will find all the information you need. The next best way is from the Whaler site go to "Owners Club", join, and you will get information on all the events sent to you. |

Hey Guys, I am new to the ContinuousWave family. Have been reading your e-mails regarding the Boston Whaler gathering at Islamorada. After spending "HOURS" searching the web for a nice motel, hotel, or resort on Islamorada - I gave up! Best I could come up with required moving three times in four days. If you have the time to spend a week in the Islamorada area as I am planning (too long a drive for just three days) You might get onto www.vrbo.com I found a one bedroom condo at a reasonable price for a week. Look forward to meeting some of you at the Rendezvous. |

Guys,Try a Google search for Futura Yacht Club, in Tavernier. These are condos that you rent. You will find several different websites to make rental arrangements. I have stayed there a few times in the past 3 years. I don't know if they have any availablity, but if they do, you will like the place. Good Luck, Brian |

I think Traci listed four places to try in Islamorada: La Siesta Resort, The Islander, Chesapeake Resort, and La Jolla Resort. I don't think that Boston Whaler reserved any rooms, except for their own use. I looked at tripadvisor.com and found over twenty place to stay. Then I spent some time reading the guest comments about each resort and made my choice. Act fast. |

The drive down to the event is about 500 miles for us. The Long Key campground has a site for the 14th so we are now OK with having a place to stay. Hope the gas prices don't get to $5.00 a gallon. This will be our only boat towing adventure if the price of gasoline keeps going out of sight.Jim and Joan |
