I will be staying in Weekapaug, RI (near the breachway) for a few days this week. I plan on bringing my 13-foor Whaler, and taking a few trips. One will be very sedate, possibly on Ninigret Pond, and I'd also like to explore the nearby waters. Where should I launch, and what else should I know about local conditions?

I'm back from my trip, and figured out why nobody with local knowledge replied to my inquiry: They were all out using their Whalers! This area has the highest concentration of Whalers of anywhere I've been. On Ninigret Pond (launching from Lavin's Landing, which I can recommend) at least 60% of the boats I encountered where Boston Whalers.

Would you post some pictures? I would love to see the area.

I only took one photo (and that with my phone) during my visit. On Friday it was rainy, so we did the tourist thing, and I snapped a photo of the Ocean House in Watch Hill ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/22064729@N08/4841733231/in/ set-72157624487412583/ ).
