Nancy & I are again willing to host the evening festivities this year, all we need to do is get a consensus on what Saturday in December to hold our annual extravaganza.

At this moment I can guarantee hosting & participation in the evening events, but now that I'm working the day shift I won't be able to commit to participating in the daytime activities until later this month.

For the daytime/Field Trip portion of the rendezvous, I'll contact Dave Zammit at Lockeman's to see about locking in the morning Holiday coffee clutch at the club house. I'd also suggest a revisit to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle as it has recently been the recipient of a multi-million dollar renovation....

So please post your reply, what dates work best for you, and any other suggestions & lets get this party started...

I have some good news and some bad news....

The good news is Nancy & I are willing to host the Holiday Rendezvous....The Bad news is do to a major memory lapse on my part we will not be able to host it on December 21st.

Considering how my and probably everyone else's schedules are filling up with Holiday plans & Obligations the only date we have left open in December is the 28th.

So let me know what you all think and we can take from there.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may change may cause anyone.

Other than the last two weekends in January we are good to go anytime. Anyone else want to chime in with availability this winter?

I had to turn in my vacation requests today for summer 2014. Will keep you posted when dates become fixed. I hope we don't have to wait until then to get together.

One suggestion would be on February 22nd. We could do the Detroit Boat Show for the day time activity and gather for our usual evening potluck.

So I'm all in for the Mid Winter get together on Feb 22, 2014. I haven't been to the boat show in a couple of years so that's a plus too.....

Should you want to have a rendezvous in Lower Alabama in April I'll sign up for it.

Any help, advice, etc. required I will be happy to provide. The Lower Alabama waters are my cruising/fishing grounds.

Watching Dolphins is only one of the fun family activities available to anyone with a boat.

Just talked to Dave Zammit at Lockeman's, he's all clear for our Coffee, donuts, Bagels, get together at the club house the morning of February 22, 2014.

Additionally, he will have Tickets to the Detroit Boat Show for all interested in attending.

That being said, we're going to need a head count. We'll need also to start putting a list together for our menu for the evening "Mid Winter Whaler Festivities". I'll also be sending out an e-mail to everyone, so let's sign up!!!

So hear is what I have thus far,

early visit to Lockeman's Hardware & Boats (opens at 9:00AM). Dave has graciously offered tickets to the Detroit Boat show for all who are interested.

The Dinner activities at "The Henahan's" will be cocktails at 6:00PM (BYO if you have a particular beer, wine, liquor you favor), Dinner at 7:00PM, the food list thus far is: Jimh & Chris - Spinach Salad

Pat & Nancy - Shrimp & other appetizers

Kevin & Debbie - Dearborn Spiral Sliced Ham

Don, Elsa, & Michael - Apple Pie & Booze Balls

Dave & Kathy - ??? maybe a bread or rolls to compliment the Ham?

Anyone else that hasn't sounded up yet, let us know if you can make it!
