Is anyone interested in a run to the Dry Totugas from either Key West or Marco Island Florida. Its about 70 statue miles from key west, 119 from Marco Island. I am thinking of sometime between mid april to mid may about 3 or 4 days. link follows:

Sounds like fun.
Be aware the park rules are restrictive.[url]http://www.nps.gov/drto/planyourvisit/upload/regulationsdrto.pdf[url/]
I'd do this in a heartbeat...now to convince the wife.

We did this trip in early April of 2010 from Key West. Great trip. Stopped at the Marquesas on the way out. Went by sunken sailboat with only its mast sticking out of the water. Buzzed by the Coast Guard (or some other Federal service twice) Park Rangers were great! Anchored the Outrage 220 just off shore and swam in. Nice group of campers out there plus both sail and power boats anchored in the harbor. Small island/fort. We will remember the trip forever. Most folks thought we were nuts going out that far from land. Bring plenty of fuel and ice. A little rough on the way back (6-8's) but followed the ferry part of the way. Enjoyed the dolphins the the snorkeling. I would bring a backup GPS unit and if you see a bale floating don't stop!

Thanks for the input how much fuel did you bring? I have the standard 77 gallon tank

about 50 miles each way out of key west with no gas station in the middle or on dry totugas. So you need to carry fuel for both ways and your side trips...
