I will be out in the San Juans 5/6 through 5/10 doing some shrimping and lingcod fishing. You can find us on the south side of Spieden, west of Sentinel at slack current, not slack tide. If the shrimping is good, I will share.Same boat, Revenge 22 with blue canvas. John

We might be doing one set on Saturday morning. It will depend of how well we have done and the currents which I have not checked.JOhn |

Hello Dennis and John On Saturday, slack current for Speiden Channel is reported as 9:36 am. We would want to be down with all 3 pots by 8:30am. After have been doing all this pot pulling stuff for three days, I am willing to bet that I will miss this one. We need to pack up the boat and head back in also on the 10th.There are some more openings this year in May. If the quota is not met, we can shrimp in June also. John |

Hi John, It would be tough for me to get there even by 9:30, since the ferry gets in at 8:35. I'll look forward to openings later in the month. Hopefully we can connect. I need to show you my new boat.Dennis |

Shrimping was not very good this year. We heard that the day before our opening there were at least 20 commercial boats out in the area. The wind came up on Thursday. We got a pot hung up, it spun the boat, took a couple of waves in and we got a foot of water in the boat. Everything is floating, got the line jammed in the pot puller but got it out before the knife, stood the Revenge up and almost floated away my wood live bait well cover.Lots of excitement but everything was OK. We got the pot free from bottom on the next try. We were only getting about 80 shrimp a day when our limit was 160 per day. I might be done for the year. John |
