You are all invited to the 2nd Annual St. John's River Classic Whaler Rendezvous, October, 2-4, 2015. We will meet and stay with Riviera Resort and Marina in historic DeLand, Florida. www.rivieraresort.net for directions and reservations. They have blocked out rooms for us. All rooms have full kitchens and will be $182.25 for Friday and Saturday nights.($91/night) They also have full hook-ups are our motorhome/camping friends available for $28.00 per night. They have a launch ramp, but for larger boats, depending on the river height; a public ramp is available at SR. 44 in DeLand.
We will all meet on Friday afternoon at Riviera, under the pavilion or by the pool for an informal Captains Meeting. Friday evening, you may choose to explore historical DeLand and one if it's fine eateries, or simply cook in your room. On Saturday morning around 10am, we will make a run north on the river, for Silver Glenn. We plan on another poker run as well. It is an 18 mile run, one way, with only a couple of idle zones. Upon return from Silver Glenn, we will have a pitch-in for dinner. There is a large smoker that will be available for our use as well as grills. This is a family event, and everyone is welcome. I should be in for this one. Retiring from the Navy this summer and moving back to Florida this summer. I am on the St. John's River in Clay County, so might be easier just to boat down to Silver Glen Springs and get a room, especially if the ramp is too small for a Conquest 21.

We're out - can't make the trip. Government is now requiring highly effective, award winning school administrators like my wife to become "Certified Administrators" or they lose their jobs. Even with years of experience makes no difference. Even with extremely high pre-test scores. This means she has to take full blown graduate level courses, while managing a challenging building and out of our pocket. No reimbursement
So that's the story - part of the wholesale attack on public education and great educators. Makes no sense - and impact on this country is dramatic.
Not happy about it but we will bite the bullet.

Janice, I moved my Conquest 21 back down to Florida this past weekend after a 1200 mile tow.
When I returned the website was down, so I missed the cutoff for the rooms because I could not retrieve the phone no. online.
I am still going to try and make the rendezvous. I start a new job in Wash DC next week, so I am not sure of my approved schedule. I am trying to work with every other Friday off, just don't know if I can get Oct 2 to be an off day yet.
Thanks for the opportunity and putting this together.

There is no way we can make the get-together as I just had some surgery and will be out of action for a couple of months. Boat is still up for sale but only a few tire kickers.

For those of you thinking about going, it was a great time last year and awesome venue for sure. St Johns River seriously cool. This time, if I go, I'd like to fish. You do have fish in FL don't you?
