All, just had to brag here and let you know what a great boat this 23' Conquest is.

Went on a dive trip this weekend in the Gulf of Mexico, and though it was a little rough offshore, the pass where we exit Gulf Shores is shallow and very rough. On the way out it was 5-6ft for about a half mile or so. Let me tell you, this boat was AWESOME. We went out in a group of two, me and another 27' Chris Craft. With the C. Craft having a 1/2 mile head start I caught up with him in the rough water because he couldn't run on a plane. They were getting soaked and had buried the bow of that boat twice. Me, I just set the tabs down, held a plane at 15knots and just busted through it all. It was euphoric we had such an adrenaline rush after getting through Perdido Pass and on out.

The beauty of it is the boat tracked perfect up and down the waves, no spray from the hull re-entry, and I didn't have to fight the boat being pushed side to side the by the waves. Just aim the bow and go. One fella in the C. Craft said he wished he had a camera because we pushed through it like a Coast Guard Cutter. Whaler would have probably liked to had that pic too.

I will never part with this baby.....

Tully,
What is the hoop gimmick on the T-top of your 21 outrage for?

phatwhaler out.

It was the mount for my radar, it bolts on to plates in the top so it can be easily removed. I had to have the radar above the spotlight because the tin backing of the light created a shadow on the radar view. Not a gimmick, just an inexpensive radar mount.

Tully, I know just what you mean. To me, that is one of the real nice benefits of the C-23. It will stay on plane at a very low speed, and stay there while keeping you dry in the process. I wish I could take the same hull and sretch it about 3-4 feet and add a transome sink/baitwell. Then I'd have the perfect boat.

Maybe that is why they don't make the 23 anymore, just the 25 and up. No boat is perfect but the 23 Con. is pretty close.
Do you guys have any preferences in GPS plotters?

Bill,

Doesn't that describe the 26 Outrage?

So far my preference in GPS plotters are any of them by Garmin. I am now on my first Garmin GPS map 162 and impressed by the features built into it. My favorite is the one where it gives you the nearest waypoints which is great when fishing and wanting to check out the closest to you spots.

Did you finally sell your other boat?
