I would like to mount a low profile windlass to my 21 conquest.I know that Whaler mounted the horizon 600 as an option but I think it would look much better with a low profile. Any sugestions???

I don't know much about what windlass is better than another, but I would like to install one on my 23 Conquest.

If you are going to install it yourself, please document the process with photographs and pass it on to JimH so we may all benefit.

Good luck.

It doesn't look to be too bad to install a Windlass, just a 2" hole for the rope, several bolt holes for the Windlass mount, and running of wire for the controls. The wire run might be the toughest part. This is from my observation of the Horizon Windlass on my boat.

BTW, the nice thing about the height of my windlass is it keeps the chain from banging the gel-coat on the deck as it pulls in. Just a thought, and from a profile it really isn't that tall.
