Made it to Block Island! The 170 got there in 35 minutes at 32 mikes per hour at 4000 to 4500 rpms early morning and back in 1-4 foot seas at 1:00 pm at 24 miles per hour at 3800 to 4100 rpms... Went Friday morning and back on Sunday afternoon... Sure do like those GPS WASS Lawrances 18 units... Never hit one rock/boulder from dust to dawn in that new moon pitch black nite and caught well some Bass while floating around those rock/bloulders too...

I had quite a trip this past weekend as well. I ran my 170 from Boston down to Falmouth. Took about 4 hours. Burned about 29 gallons. I stopped off in Sandwich right at the start of the canal. We flew though the canal, took us all of 12 minutes, i guess the wake, or lack of it given off by the Montauk wasn't worth the aggrevation(the canal is a 10 mph zone!)to the police. Going on a good, serious ocean ride like that, complete w/ pounding, makes you realize why these boats are so great.

I just got off the phone with the Whaler Dealer and they said they are going to ask EZ Loader why the Trailer Fender lights popped out on both side when I just easied over an 8" curb! As for the reputation:-) Definately true... I asked the dealer what a 24 Outrage would cost ... He said 65 - 75 Beans!!! Now can that thing Fly like a 170? HC

Gables Inn ask for Barbara... She is the best!!! Moor outside the Harbour along the Sand next to the Jetty... No charge... Great Steamer clams... Look up the Block Island .com for the Chamber of Commerce info for the phone for the Gables... Make sure you get calm water and drift eels at night for big bass too... I know!!! Java and Juice is the best Coffee across the street from the Gables... Its only a 1/10 of a mile from Old Harbor... John Calhoune is the dock master... Great Guy too... The Holy Cow
