Is there a rule of thumb as to when you should just re-coat the bottom versus remove, reprime, repaint the bottom. My 2003 Whaler spends April to December in the salt water in New Jersey, it's only a year old so I don't think I need to have anything but repainting done, however the local dealer has a question on the spring tuneup list that asks what I want done. How will I know when it's time to do more than repaint?

Any help? Thanks
Rio

Check with the dealer and see what paint he applied.

Some paints are multi-seasonal and might last 3 seasons at best.

I use Interlux Micron Extra in Delaware and paint every 2 seasons. I do touch it up between seasons as needed.
