Forgot to add pictures- http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ktcusa/album?.dir=/5bd9 First, credit for this must go directly to Chuck as he's the one that came up with it in the first place. I think his Montauk is pre 2002 and has a larger bow locker. The 5 gallon bucket I used fits with the lid on if you grind down the 1/8" ridge on the bottom of the bucket. It holds 300'of 3/8 rode and 6' of chain. The fit is close and the anchor locker latches. The anchor is a Danforth 5H. There is now bit more room for other stuff. The padding I added is 5/8" pipe insulation. So his great idea works on a 170 as well! |

I mounted my #13 Anchor off the front Rail and used a Boaters World SS Clamp at bottom of yoke at the back of walk around front bow area! The line and 6 foot chain lay into the front locker and there is plenty of space for other items. When I need the anchor a squezee snap clasp releases the yoke of the Anchor and the Shoe at the base slides up and forward and out away from rail to make a quick entrance into the water below! I love this set up. It gives Ole Bet. Kim's Revenge a much more "I mean Business" Look! H. C. |

I put the #13 anchor on the bow rail and she is stout looking! Will be in Manasquan, NJ to show her off on the 4th of Sept. "Bet Kim's Revenge" HC |

Well, I mounted it on the rail like you did before Saturday morning's fishing run. We went out to the Coronado Islands off Mexico and caught five Yellowtail, a Barracuda, a Sculpin, and a Bonita that was eaten in half by a seal before we could get it gaffed. The whole time we just drift fished-never dropped anchor once! Not taking anything away from your settup, I just like mine stowed since I don't use it that much. whale tauk |

Did you put the Boaters World SS Cleat at the bottom side of the rode/yoke just before the chain enters into the locker? With the rail shoe and cleat the #9 or #13 anchor will sit secure in any sea. HC |

Holy smokes Holy Cow! Did you read this part? "Not taking anything away from your settup, I just like mine stowed since I don't use it that much." I'm happy you like your anchor hanging from your bow rail, I prefer mine free of obstructions. |
